In some respects a lot of the visuals were nostalgic in content, The Model and Radio-Activity especially. To me the whole series of concerts is about nostalgia for their own body of work and few would disagree that the band stalled in the mid-eighties. Sonically it was possibly the best sounding concert I've ever attended (regardless of the songs) the acoustics they got were incredible. Visually I can think of many people doing far more interesting work with concert visuals albeit without the added 3D component to enhance the experience.

You seem to have missed the point entirely on all fronts! I saw them in 2004 and again this month and have followed the material through it's various incarnations and, for me at least, the point is that they resist jumping on the various bandwagons of modern production and visual techniques and do their own instantly recognisable thing, existing in some timeless space. To describe the visuals as archaic and use the words 'stalled' and 'nostalgia' is well wide of the mark, in my view. They make everything else look and sound dated. Sorry everyone!

Hi. Great post.
I can relate to what your saying as I was at tribal gathering 97 and your right it rocked but most of that was mainly due to the super energetic crowd. Most of people I met that day hadn't even heard of K beforehand and it brought K to their attention. Now 15 years later me and the missus find ourselves leaving Amsterdam on the high speed train to dussledorf for the Computerworld gig last week.
We left once the album had finished as I've never been a lover of autobahn.
The nay down side for me was the lack of oooommf from the audience who (bar a few smiley people) just stood stared and left. We couldn't get enough and grinned as we walked home with our 3d glasses still on. :0) the 3d graphics were the usual faff about right enough. I've been to a Vitalic 3d show and it was lazy in places also. Even your blockbuster 3d movies have lazy periods of 3dness so that part doesn't bother me.
Anyway I'm off to the man machine event at Tate on Saturday next month..I'm pretty sure that it will be of similar vein but I'll judge K after that I as agree with what you've said on some points and your right it's pure nostalgia. We love them and I have sneaky feeling I will be going to sonar festival too.

My key just made a melody....goodbye.
