Sunset on Mars
Incredible photo of the sunset on Mars, taken from the Curiosity Mars-Rover, and another view in 3D from the craft. It’s been pointed out that this was taken in 2005 by another craft, thanks. Still an amazing photo.

I’ve been fascinated by the sunset image you posted and have since made it my desktop photo.
I found it curious that I had not come across this picture reading about Curiosity’s mission or in the images it has sent back thus far.
It turns out this sunset shot was taken in 2005 by the Spirit rover:

Thank you for sharing this amazing photograph which has inspired me to learn much more about the current and prior Mars exploration missions.
