DJ Food in Record Collector magazine

After months of ‘will it be in this issue?’, I’m finally in the Christmas issue of Record Collector magazine (with Led Zeppelin on the cover), in ‘The Collector’ article and it was worth the wait. For the first time I can remember they’ve gone from the usual two pages to three to accommodate the ‘Wall of Sound’ photograph Steve Cook took specially (full image above).

I’m so pleased with this and I get a chance to show off some prize pieces from my collection. Several items mentioned aren’t shown because of space but I’ll be posting some of them in the ‘Originals’ posts on this site all week.

  1. All I can say is you must have *very* long arms, or a trained monkey or something. Seriously though – that’s a great pic…

  2. That is a great photograph…amazing vinyl collection, nice to see Chill Out by your feet (a cheeky nod to that KLF mix you did a while back perhaps?). Also good to see a bit of subtle self-promotion with your Moog design t-shirt…just ordered one, hopefully in time for Christmas!

  3. Wow! Nice surprise to see you in Record Collector again. You have an impressive collection. Interesting article, nice photos, would have loved to have seen in the vaults of ZTT and had a nosey. Any more mixes of Das Psycho Rangers’ – The Essential Art Of Communication?

  7. Really? Does it have Led Zeppelin on the cover?
If it’s the guy with the Elvis records it’s the issue before, what abouts are you in the world Robert?

  8. it`s the “rarest album sleeves” cover, december 2011, Led Zeppelin seems to be christmas edition. Bought it on ebay, cause no other way to get it over here in my part of Austria.

  9. ah, damn, that’s the issue before, I assumed the Xmas issue would be December – kind of figures doesn’t it? That’ll be the 13th month in publishing maybe – sorry about that, I can send you a pdf of the article if you want?
