More Dredd concept art and Mega City scenes from the film. Some of these are by Jock , some by Neil Miller VFX (check his site for tons more) and some by Daren Horley. It’s a shame the film didn’t have as glorious an opening weekend as in the UK. Reading comments on some websites it seems that the Stallone film did more damage than we thought with a lot of Americans thinking that this was a remake of the 1995 film rather than a new take on a 35 year old character. Depressing.
The Stallone film damaged me so much that I almost didn’t watch the new film. Having grown up reading my older brother’s copies from a young age (probably too young considering the recurring nightmares about judge death chasing me round the south Acton estate) I care too much about the character and world to see it ruined by another poor film but I was pleasantly surprised.
Admittedly the story line was pretty basic and you can never recreate the comic world perfectly but I thought it was a very good intro for a new audience. It was worth finally going back to the cinema in almost 10 years!
Should love to see a decent animated version of dredd. How cool would it be to do the song of the surfer? It could be beautiful-the comic certainly is
