20 years since the first Ninja Tune ‘Stealth’ club night

Stealth Dec 95

Yes, 20 years ago today (although it was a Thursday back then) Ninja hosted their second party at the Blue Note in Hoxton Square, London and the first with the title ‘Stealth’ (the original party was a launch do for the ‘A Recipe For Disaster’ album). Great times ensued, pretty sure I met my future wife that night too…

  1. I think you’re talking about Ruby Lo? Small downstairs basement club DK and I ran between 2004-2005? Nothing regular happening I’m afraid

  2. I loved nights. My fave monthly Thursday event when I lived in London. What was that small venue behind Selfridges? You and Amon Tobin playing off eachother is one of my favourite dance floor moments.

Do you still run these? I have a friend coming over to London (from NZ)

  3. I am so sorry I missed your reply. Almost two years to the day…. shameful!
Really appreciate you getting in touch. Thinking back it probably was the latter half of the 90’s. Purely based on the fact I bought my decks in ’95 and learnt to DJ using Ninja tracks and it was definitely after that.
Don’t suppose you ever found the flyer? (How cheeky?!*?)
I’ll look out for a response this time 😉
    Thanks again, Joolz

  4. Hi Joolz, it’s quite possible although without consulting my flyer and poster archive I can’t confirm. We did play all over the UK in the latter half of the 90s and I have most flyers for the gigs somewhere.

  5. Hey,

I am trying to find out if this same tour went to The Warehouse in Leeds. I have a vague recollection of it being mid- late 90’s. It was definitely a ninja tour and The Herbaliser played but no info *anywhere*. I was there and it was ace!
